Mrs. Jenny Talburt has been a teacher in Springfield Public Schools for 12 years. She has been both a regular classroom teacher (1st, 2nd and 4th grades) and as a reading specialist, serving 6-8th grades. She also teaches EDUC 401 and EDUC 407 as an adjunct instructor for Drury University.
Mrs. Talburt earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Masters of Education Special Reading from Drury University. She completed her student teaching at Pershing Elementary in 2001 and is happy to be back!
Mrs. Talburt loves to incorporate technology into the classroom. In 2014, the InTech grant provided laptops for her students and training in using technology and inquiry to engage students and deepen understanding. Mrs. Talburt is kept busy cheering for her two sons (9 and 12) at their baseball, football and basketball games. She married her high school sweetheart, and they will celebrate 15 years in December.
